CSQT-Series (Sound Attenuation)

CSQTSummary and Description:

The Contour Seal Quiet Joint (CSQT) is a premium quality joint sealant composed of an open micro-cell polyurethane foam impregnated with a hydrophobic, flame retardant, modified acrylic. It was developed and designed to provide sound control characteristics in a wide range of applications and provides a dustproof, airtight, soundproof and insulated urethane seal.

The seal includes a colorized elastomeric layer of silicone with the option to coat one, two, or three of the material faces. Once the CSQT is installed in the joint, the material adapts to the width of the joint and the irregularities of the substrate, provided such profile changes are not sudden or extreme.

It works under its own constant internal pressure to provide a permanent seal ideal for use as an air infiltration barrier in stationary partitions or low movement wall joints.

Primary Applications:

  • Stationary or moving joints
  • Curtain walls
  • Masonry stud plates
  • Concrete slabs
  • Structural space between window and door frames
  • Partition walls with ceilings
  • Seams between chimneys, roof protection, roof panels and wall panels
  • Air sealing
  • Other joints requiring an air infiltration barrier

Features and Benefits:

♦ Permanently elastic and protects against air, dust and sound transfer
♦ Resists stretching and twisting during installation due to the Polyester scrim in the PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive)
♦ Made from a monolithic piece of foam that will not delaminate like multi-layer products
♦ Consistent depth of product
♦ Used for joints up to 6” wide
♦ Not based on asphaltic or bitumastic impregnation
♦ Available in Dow Corning (R) 790 and Pecora 890 Colors: Actual colors may vary. See Dow Corning 790 and Pecora 890 color charts for exact match or contact EMS for a sample swatch.
